Instructions

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
Whisk flour, salt, and baking powder. Add to butter mixture and mix just until combined.
Chill dough 30 minutes. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
Flatten slightly with a fork or glass.
Bake at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are light golden.
Cool on sheet 2 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
