Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra if needed)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 cup (2 sticks)
  • ¾ cup heavy cream (plus extra if needed)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Optional Mix-ins

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • Zest of 2 fresh lemons
  • 1 cup chopped Reese's peanut butter cups
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Cut in the cold High Desert Milk butter using a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract until blended.
  4. Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients. Stir to combine. If the mixture is overly crumbly, add a few teaspoons of heavy cream.
  5. Form dough into a disc on a floured surface (6–8 inches in diameter and ¾-inch thick).
  6. Cut into wedges and transfer onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake 18-10 minutes, until golden brown.
