For the 20th year, High Desert Milk brought business partners, sponsors, and golfers together at River’s Edge Golf Course to raise money for scholarships in the Cassia County area. This year, the tournament raised just under $200,000, making it the largest amount raised in the history of the event.

High Desert Milk matched the nearly $100,000 raised through donations with its own funds, bringing the total to just under $200,000 going toward the education of students around the county.
20 Years of the Scholarship Golf Scramble
The scholarship golf scramble has been part of High Desert Milk for 20 years. This year’s tournament was especially fitting since High Desert Milk also celebrated its 25th anniversary last month.
Over the years, the tournament has continued to grow thanks to the businesses and people who come back year after year to support it. Starting as a small golf tournament, it has become one of the ways High Desert Milk and its business partners support students in the Cassia County area and give back to the community.
This year, the tournament reached a new record.
Sponsors Making this Possible
We could not put on an event like this without the businesses that continue to support it.
Our major sponsors this year included BTG Ingredients, Hydrite, G&R Foods, Kemper, Grupo Lozano Montoya, Nelson-Jameson, and Dairy West.
Nelson-Jameson helped us raise a total of $7,000 with their onsite fundraiser, with them matching the amount, raising an amazing $14,000 total.

Nelson-Jameson’s awesome putting green, featuring butter and our very own Cream Cheese.
Merck and Animal Health International sponsored the drink carts, and several other businesses sponsored holes throughout the course.
We appreciate every business that sponsored the tournament, whether they were a major sponsor or sponsored a single hole. Every bit of support helped us reach this year’s total.
Thank You to Our Dairymen
The work they do every day is what makes High Desert Milk possible in the first place. They are the reason we can produce our products, run our business, and support events like this one.
After 25 years of High Desert Milk, we are especially thankful for the dairy families who have been behind the company from the beginning and continue to make it all possible.
The Person Behind it All
A special thank you also goes to Karla Robinson, who has taken care of the golf scramble for many years.
"This would not be near what it is without her"Derik Robinson, CEO
Keeping an event like this going for 20 years takes a lot of work. From organizing sponsors to handling all the details that come with the tournament, Karla has been a big part of making it happen year after year.
We appreciate everything she has put into the event over the years. She has been wholeheartedly dedicated to this company since the beginning and continues to be an important part of making events like this happen.
Helping Students in Cassia County
The money raised through the golf scramble goes toward several scholarships for students in the Cassia County area.
With nearly $100,000 raised through donations and High Desert Milk matching that amount, this year’s fundraiser will provide more scholarship support than any previous golf scramble.
If you want to add to the support of these students, please share this story and the opportunities that come with it.
The scholarships are available to high school students in the Mini-Cassia area who are planning to attend college. Students from Oakley, Burley, Minico, Kimberly, Declo, Hansen, and Murtaugh high schools are eligible to apply.
Applications open December 15 and remain open through March 15. Scholarship recipients are selected by the High Desert Milk board members.
Twenty years of the tournament, 25 years of High Desert Milk, and a record-breaking fundraiser made this year’s event a pretty special one.
"We can't thank you all enough, as suppliers, customers, etc., It's amazing to see the support we see every year. We couldn't do it without your support. See you in 2027".Derik Robinson, CEO
